We’re on the lookout for skilled Data Cabling Technicians with a passion for delivering high-quality work. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, testing, and commissioning fibre optic infrastructure for some of the industry’s biggest and most reputable clients.
Your Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test CAT 6A structured cabling
- Deploy optic fiber installations with finesse
- Master the art of climbing ladders, running cables overhead and under floors
- Splicing/ribbon splicing
- Fluke testing
- Network understanding and able to trouble shot like a pro
- Showcase your expertise with patch panels and fault finding
- Client interaction and customer service.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of communications/cabling experience.
- ACMA Open Cable Registration (essential).

About the Opportunity
As a Supervisor / Leading Hand, you will oversee and coordinate day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. You will be accountable for all WHS and quality requirements onsite, with regular reporting to the Project Manager.

- Develop detailed BOQs across fibre, copper, containment, pathways, racks, and testing
- Deliver accurate, competitive cost estimates using real-world productivity and supplier pricing
- Identify risks, gaps, and design issues before they become problems
- Lead high-quality tender submissions with smart methodology and value engineering
- Support seamless handover into delivery with full commercial clarity
Technical Leadership
- Act as the go-to technical authority for structured cabling systems
- Review and validate designs, shop drawings, and installation methodologies
- Guide project teams through installation, coordination, and commissioning challenges
- Ensure full compliance with AS/CA S009, AS/NZS 3000, TIA/EIA, and client standards
- Oversee testing & commissioning (OTDR, ILM, copper certification)

What You Will Bring
Must-Have
- 5+ years in ICT, structured cabling, or data centre infrastructure
- Strong estimating experience in cabling/electrical/ICT environments
- Deep technical understanding of fibre, copper, containment, and pathways
- Experience in data centre or mission-critical projects
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications
- Strong command of industry standards (AS/CA S009, TIA/EIA, AS/NZS 3000)

About the role
As a Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects from initiation through to completion. Working closely with Project Managers and operational teams, you will coordinate project activities, manage documentation, monitor project progress, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
You will be responsible for maintaining strong communication between stakeholders, supporting financial and resource management, coordinating site activities, and ensuring all project documentation and close-out requirements are completed to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Delivery
- Assist Project Managers with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery.
- Attend client and site meetings and distribute meeting minutes and action items.
- Prepare project schedules and track project milestones.
- Monitor project progress, labor utilisation, costs, and expenditure.
- Coordinate purchase orders, supplier deliveries, and material requirements.
- Track project variations and ensure all out-of-scope works are documented and quoted.
- Prepare project completion and handover documentation, including drawings, test results, and close-out reports.
- Generate invoice requisitions and support project financial management.
- Maintain accurate project records within project management systems.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
- Communicate project updates clearly and professionally.
- Manage client expectations and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Respond promptly to client requests and proactively resolve issues.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and business development.
Team & Resource Coordination
- Manage internal resources of technicians and apprentices.
- Coordinate labour allocation and scheduling across projects.
- Support technician workload planning and resource management.
- Approve timesheets and assist with leave planning and coverage.
- Manage tools, equipment, stock levels, and inventory requirements.
- Promote a positive team culture focused on safety, accountability, and performance.
Safety & Quality Assurance
- Conduct routine site quality inspections and WHS checks.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Promote safe work practices and minimise project risks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality assurance processes
Skills & Experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Experience with project scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Visio.
- Experience using project management systems and software.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, fibre, telecommunications, or electrical infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
About You
- Previous experience in a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, Supervisor, or similar role.
- Demonstrated customer service and client management experience.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
- NSW Construction White Card (General Construction Induction).
- Certificate III in Telecommunications, Electrical Trade Qualification, or similar vocational qualification (desired)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Vendor certifications (SYSTIMAX, Siemon, Panduit, or similar) highly regarded.
